I have this bike that was purchased brand new by my husbands Aunt in 1950. I was told it is not an original Schwinn town and country because they were not sold until the 60's. Can you tell me more about the bike and what it could possible bw worth?

    Thank you
    Sandy

Schwinn had this style of bike in 1945, http://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1941_1950/1945_02.html
The earliest I found the name Town & Country is 1961 http://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1961_1970/1961_02.html
The best way to date it, is to look on the Bottom bracket under the crank. Old Tandems are not worth as much as you might think. I feel the lack of peoples storage space and the high cost of shipping play into this. Yours is very nice in the pictures. I think it would bring between $500-$1000.
