I found this slide leaf table on craigslist. The seller did clean-outs and was paid to take it to the dump. He tries to sell anything decent instead of just trashing them. Thankfully... It took me about a month, here and there, to repair it (damage from someone leaning on the extended leaf), strengthen it, and then refinish it. I used a red mahogany stain which is just barely noticeable - it gave it a slight red hue that matches everything else perfectly. Many coats of semi-gloss urethane, wet sanded between coats.

It is now the centerpiece in our house.

There are no markings other than "100 table" on the bottom. If anyone has any info to share, it would be appreciated.

I keep calling this a drop leaf table - guess it's really called a slide leaf or draw leaf table. Jacobean style from what I've dug up. Haven't found one quite like it yet.

Your table is beautiful and I know you're really proud to find that bargain. I love to take something antique that some would throw away and refinish it into a prize.

Thank you very much! I am very proud of it. I am in the process of doing a set of chairs to go with it. I will post them as well :-)
