My husband got this from his brother after their grandmother had died it belonged to her many fine collections in her home.

I have tried to look it up with no help, we would like to know who made it and how old it is. We also would not mind knowing how much it might be worth.

Anyone that can help with this item I would be so thankful. It has on the bottom 1864 byar import Japan. Could that be the year???

I seriously doubt that is the year of production. It could be the company year or a pattern number.
