Okay, I'm really not sure what this is so any help would be much appreciated. The writing is quite worn but there is a symbol and what appears to say Juhann Fruer Bavaria. I've tried googling the name and nothing popped up, so perhaps I'm reading it wrong. It winds up and there is a red crayon inside. Does anyone know who it's made by or what its purpose is?

    Thanks :)

oh yay, thanks so much AR8Jason. Is it rare or common? This was a random item I just found inside a box from the contents of an abandoned storage unit that we bought :)

I thought as much. :) I love your collection, especially the ornate Victorian era pencils. Faber-Castell is the most popular brand of it's kind in Australia but I had no idea of its history. Thanks again Kevin :)
