Vintage Miniature Canister Set

This is a complete set - pretty blue color with gold leaf decoration and the names of the canisters; I have all the lids and none appear to be damaged in any way. I believe this belonged to my grandmother. There are 6 large, 6 small, one large/wide one (salt) and two cruet style (oil & vinegar). Bottom clearly stamped Made in Japan. I've been searching all over the internet and found an almost identical set but the color and style was different, although the set composition was the same and font style - however that set was marked Germany. ANY information would be helpful!
