These are Brass Candle Stick Holders that are 3ft Tall. I know this is probably the wrong category to put it in. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how you know if it is solid brass or plated. Would love to know their worth. I got these today at an estate sale around the corner from my house. I paid $10.00 for the pair.

      Hello,
These are solid brass and were made from shell casings during the Vietnam war. They unscrew into several pieces. Yours are missing a tray or collar that fit between the top section and the one below. You could remove a section if you want to change the height. I was never able to get candle that fit always had to scrape off from the base of the candle to make them work. Loved them at Christmas. They are quite heavy. My husband sent mine home while he was in Vietnam. Feel free to email if you have any questions. (He says we still have them in the basement) Candy
