Acquired this at Goodwill for $1.00, thought it was unusual. Wife said it was for cooling the wine without ice getting in to contact with the wine. Stands about 13' tall and seemingly fragile based on the thin handle so I take care not to handle it too much. No maker's marks suggesting it is either a one-off or something common.
