Does anyone have info about this bottle? I found the top to be of interest but not sure what it was used for. (See picture) The bottom has DES PAT 92828 then a 3 and 2 in between an oval with a diamond (not triangle as first posted, sorry) with an I in the middle. Thanks!
This is from one of my postings. The same company made your bottle. I received a lot of helpful info and it will help you identify your piece too.

If you post a picture of the makers mark we can probably get more of an exact date of production for you.
The marking your talking about is probaly owens, so made somtime in the 40's/ 50's. Most likly not a rare bottle.
Thanks for the link! Very informative. Additional picture added. Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Where can I purchase this green duraglass water bottle with or without the top?
I can't tell if anyone answered you or not, but my grandmother had one of these and she used as a water bottle. You could pour from it without taking off the top and she was sure no one would put their mouth on the bottle to drink from it. Are you interested in selling?
I have the same bottle and the top is in perfect condition, what do I do with it ?
I just bought one of these off of ebay. It was a wonderful childhood memory for me. My grandparents always had two in the refrigerator full of water. I love the sound it makes when you pour water. I wasn't sure what they were called but looked for years with no real information so I was searching for green glass water bottles. Finally hit the jackpot. I was thrilled to find out the name and patent number. It makes tracking them down easier.
I have this bottle, it belonged to my Great Aunt who used it as a water bottle. Hers was well water and tasted nasty but I loved using the bottle with the unique pour top. I am in search of the metal top as someone who didn't know what it was for threw ut away.
