Recent find at estate sale . It is made by Gorham . 1776 commemorative plate. it is sterling with gold vermeil . I beleive only 250 were made. It weighs over 26 ounces .I have seen several in plain china and only a picture in silver but have not found any in gold vermeil overlay.. any info would be great . .I'm wondering how rare it might be as i can imagine some have been melted down in the precious metal craze over the years .also it says it was made in 1972 odd year for commemorating 1776 .
