Over the past several years we’ve published more than 150 interviews with collectors of everything from baseball cards to tractors. During this time, we’ve received countless requests from users who want to show off their collections of vintage fountain pens, rare 45s, and antique clocks, to name but a few of the 850 or so collecting categories featured on our pages.
Okay, here’s what we’re going to do. Starting right now and until the end of May, 2010, you are cordially invited to participate in our “Show Us Your Stuff” event. Simply send us a short, 300-word email describing your collection (what you collect, how you got started, how many objects you have, some of your favorite or most-prized pieces, etc.), along with no more than three images of it. Images should be in jpg format, a maximum of six inches wide or tall, and saved at 72dpi. We’ll take a look at all submissions received, pick our favorites, and publish the Top Ten Collections throughout the summer.
To submit your collection, please send an email with “Show Us Your Stuff” in the subject line and three attached images to support@collectorsweekly.com. Be sure to include your name and phone number along with the description of your collection. Feel free to use the photo above by our own Maribeth Keane (you can see more of her portraits here) as an example of the sort of shot we’re looking for, but you are equally welcome to come up with an approach that is all your own.
Thanks!
