LeBron James has been drawing Michael Jordan comparisons since high school. Many of his games at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s high were televised, and early in his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers he was given the title “King James.”
King James never brought a championship to the beleaguered city of Cleveland, and he “took his talents to South Beach,” as James so modestly put it, when he joined the Miami Heat after the 2009-10 season. Some Cavs fans burned his #23 Cleveland jerseys in response, but, for more cool-headed collectors, James memorabilia are some of the most popular goods in the NBA—whether it’s any of the dozens of highly collectible James basketball cards, his autograph, or his #6 Miami jersey.
