The images above are examples of chromolithography at its best. These items were collected by me approximately 45 years sgo during my brief stay in Ashville, N.C.
The difficilties in collecting black memoriabilia, is that most of it is greatly misunderstood. I have found that our predecessor didn't always have the best interest in heart and or best intentions and or taste when advertising.
The derogatory nature of these items reflects a different time in American history when it was acceptable to have items as such in homes and elsewhere.
This set of cards includes advertising cards, trading cards and post cards.

I welcome any and all information pertaining the the subject matter.

Okay, you know my opinion on the history...how weird and yucky I find it.
But...I totally sympathize with that poor gal in the first picture. My kiddo is sick and crabby!! Universal to all.
