    (106 items)

I purchased this box of 32-20 Remington cartridges at a gun shop down town that was closing down. At the time it was one of the oldest gun shops in town. There were squares of tin that someone had shot holes in the outline of an indian. This box was on a sale table. I purchased them because I thought fit my fathers Winchester. They did not. Price is still on the box, $2.45. I think the year was 54 or 55. Name of store was something like PURCHUNIC'S Porchnic's.

Winchester & Colt guns marked ".32 cal" are .32-20. .32 cal in front of 20 grs of blk. pdr.. I don't remember any other guns that were made for this caliber right off hand. As a youth, I had a Winchester rifle & carbine as well as a Colt (1901) single action in this caiber. Never could hit a anything with the SA Colt using the sights but got good enough with quick-draw to get 3 out of 5 clay pigeons from the hip. Days long gone! Bore is closer to 30-31 dia.. So, was your father's Winchester marked ".32"? Did you find out what caliber it really was? A full box of orig. .32-20's is worth a bit more than $2.45 but but don't run away from the farm. They aren't very rare & still made, I believe.

Smith & Wesson made a .32-20 Winchester caliber known as the .32-20 Hand Ejector Model.
The .32-20 Hand Ejector 1st Model, was manufactured from 1899-1902.
The .32-20 Hand Ejector Model 1902 was manufactured from 1902-1905.
The .32-20 Hand Ejector Model 1905 was manufactured from 1905-1940.
