    This is the proto type for a razor blade sharpening tool invented by my great Uncle in 1928. He called it the Whirlstrop be cause you inserted a razor blade into the paper clip looking holder and as you spun, or whirled the unit by the handle the blade would rub against the leather stropping material on the hub sharpening the blade. R.E. Bucklin Inc. Syracuse, New York built it for my Uncle. The Whirlstrop Corporation issued the stock certificate to my Grandfather for 22 shares on August 23, 1928. Unfortunately, the product never made it to the public and to my joy is truly a one of a kind piece of Americana
