Awesome antique fire helmet with great lining and color. Awesome badge in front and just a sweet item. I would like to see how much its worth being they go on eBay for 3-400 in worse condition

      Hello again!

This is a Cairns Senator helmet. Based upon the printed front shield it was likely produced in the late 1950s or 1960s. This helmet was produced into the 1970s and was used by a number of large metropolitan fire departments including Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

The manufacturer's tag is also a give away: Cairns moved to Clifton, NJ from NYC in the 1940s/early 1950s.

NB: The "PVA" on the front shield is most likely the firefighter's initials. Some departments used to do this.
