I found this dish at a flea market here in NY. I am hoping some kind readers might be able to help me identify it. I am interested in knowing what the pattern is, and what the Hallmark is. It is marked 800, but I am not sure what this means. If you can help me identify this dish I would be very grateful.

    Thank you in advance,
    Deb

Here is a link and the answer to the 800:
http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_stamp_800_on_silver_items800 parts of silver per 1000, or 80% silver, 20% other metal. Sterling silver is 925/1000 or 92.5% silver. 800 silver is not sterling quality.
.888 silver is "coin silver" as opposed to "stirling silver." It has more nickel in it to make it harder for use in coins.

And here is a link to Hallmarks:
      http://925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html

Coin silver must be 900 silver, by law.

Thank you for your response, I am still interested in finding out who the maker is on this piece and hopefully the pattern as well.

      Hi
Italian dish from the 30's. The hallmark was used by the silversmith Mario Soldati, Milan. His firm was bought in 1938 by one of its workers, Marco Dabbene. The Dabbene Company is still active.
