Look at the great Black Friday find we found at a second hand store. The inside is in fair condition with some of the paper still inside. It's 30" wide, 18" high and 17" deep. It has a Vine and Flower metal top, front, back and sides. The inside still has some of the paper inside. It also has a dropdown storage area on the inside of the dome. Any feedback would be great.

azvintage, this is a very beautiful "Round Top" trunk you have here. It would be from the 1880s to early 1890s period. The pressed tin pattern you have was called "Petal Pushers". Very nice to see the original tray and hat box still intact. Looks like you had a GRREAT "Black Friday" shopping experience. Thanks for sharing with us!!

Thank you so much for your information Scott. So that's what the little box on the top is a hat box. WOW :) Thank you for the name of the pressed tin design also. We just love it.
      Have a great weekend

Oh by the way, most people refer to all trunks as "Steamer" trunks. Yours is simply referred to as a "Round Top" trunk. The myth that only round tops were bought by the wealthy to keep other trunks from being stacked on top, is not true. The steamship porters simply laid them on their front or back and continued to stack trunks on these.
Actually, there was only one steamer trunk. They were called steamers because they would slide into the berth of steamships. Here is one that I posted about a year ago.
