Just bought this at a garage sale. Guy said this trunk was passed down from his wife's great grandparents. The trunk is beat up but still can be saved. Wood appears to be wagon poplar, I think. Old wall paper inside with a picture of a woman. Can anybody identify this trunk and let me know what I have? Thank you so much.

You have in your possession a dome top trunk from the early 1900's maybe late 1890's. Triple bonus points for the interior tray to still be with it -- many are long lost. Also kudos to you for seeing that it can be brought back to life -- with much tlc this will shine once more. Many companies made this type so without a label could be any number of makers. The latches are familiar -- can't recall the maker just now -- maybe their initials are on them. Good luck on the restore and send us a pic of the finished product -- and welcome to Collector's Weekly.

I have a trunk like this one and was wondering if you would happen to know about what it's worth?
