Very strange to me this tray is. Been trying to find out who these people are, Lt. Paul Ehrlich, Emerson Newman, etc. Beverly Hills lawn bowling club.
Also the back says hand made and a weird what looks like a hallmark with a bear in the middle.

    Thanks for looking people...

Lovely find! I found this, in "AMERICAN LAWN BOWLS ASSOCIATION" magazine.
Dr. J. Ehrlich found out 1943 that his Air Pilot son 'Paul' was alive in a P.O.W. camp after being shot down over Germany. To commemorate that important day, Dr. Ehrlich that same year, sponsored an Annual Championship Singles Tournament.

I think this census from 1940 is the Ehrlich family

Sweet story! I just love personal items like this with a story. Print out the two pages and keep them with the tray! If you google "Eme Newman" Beverly Hills, a few more Magazine issues come up. Thanks for sharing!

Emmerson Newman was quite the lawn bowler. He won five times!

I wonder why they stopped the Tourney in '68?

Ooh - here's where he lived. Hie full name was A. Emerson Newman. His wife was in the Who's Who Women of CA & President of the Beverly Hills Women's Club.

Oh wait - he was the Architect of that house. HE lived at 312 Rodeo Dr. in 1922.

Celiene, Cool research. I seen that house too, though didn't see 312 Rodeo Dr. That's pretty cool actually, Thanks...

It was in the Who's who womans book. I would look 'em all up - but that's how I get myself in trouble! Hours can pass!
