I found this washed up on the beach on the east coast of South Africa. Approx 2 ins high, its a heavy solid pottery, but rubbed smooth from being tumbled in the sea. Traces of a honey color glaze in places. I have no clue on age or was it part of something. all edges are very smooth so cannot tell if it was connected to anything, Just seems kind of weird with a hand holding up a severed head, unless its a talisman of sorts
I have hunted on the web and it MIGHT be part of Chinnamasta statue or a bas-relief. Can anyone tell me if I am correct and a possible age the piece might be ?
