Although jar collecting isn't a hobby of mine, I found this square jar at a flea market recently. It just seemed to call my name. I've never seen one like it and found it's cut in check like pattern very pretty. The front of it has a smooth serfice area as it it once had a lable on it. I'm not sure if it has the original screw lid on it or not but it appears to be quite old also and says Sultana. The bottom has what I believe is a pontil mark from what I can find in researching and is stamped S-128 on the inner circle. Would anyone have an idea of what it may have once contained or any history of this type of jar?
