Discovered today on a road trip along the Ohio River. I'm not even sure if this is enamel paint...I am new to this. But it is paint of some type over a magnetic metal, iron, I think, as there is a bit of rust on the back side. Also, the paint has chipped off on some of the edges on the front leaving a copper-colored metal beneath. I did think it was copper at first but it is magnetic. I could be wrong - I am not a metalurgist. The paint is in three colors - a yellow base on the bodies with a red tone placed right on top. The branch and leaf have a green hue but it is very silvery. The eyes are are pools of deep red-brown. It stood out to me in a case of hundreds of pins simply because of how muted its colors are.

Cute! Ilove the look on the birds' faces. Nice!
A sweet piece, i'd guess it's from the 40s. Don't know the size of yours but a similar one in design (about 2-3") is for sale at a local antiques mall for $95.
