This piece measures about 8" across and is very heavy.
Both the red shell and crab have gold inclusions.
The bottom of the shell has a polished flat section to allow it to sit level and a polished pontil. The surface shows a lot of minute scratching consistent with age. There is the remnant of a small label on the pontil.
I bought this as 1950s Venetian, but believe it may be earlier.
As with all of my glass any help on age or attribution is appreciated.

Thanks vintage and Alfredo
1950's venetian is right on. The thickness of the glass along with color are the signs which lead to me to say so.
Thanks for the information retro!
Scott
