    Hi,

please help me with another estate sale find?
This is an oval shaped shallow basket, made from
wicker or grass or some other material.
The red banding looks to be very old and a little faded.

Does anyone know who made this, whether this is a Mexican
or Native American basket and how old is it?

    Thanks!

    Nessa

I have this same basket. It belonged to my mother. Other than the fact that it is somewhat old, I have no other info. It does have a Mexican or Native American look to it.

      Yes, doesn't it?
Hope someone can tell us who made it and how old it is.

It's Mexican, from the Toluca Valley area, and probably dates ca. 1940s/1950s.

Thanks to DrNessa for posting your basket and to CanyonRoad for identifying it. I've had mine as long as I remember and never knew it's origin!
