Here's a real treasure. This Steiff (whom I've named Abelard) is from 1907 and in wonderful condition. I was very lucky to find him.

How I love Steiff teddy bears - grew up middle class but with a non-working mom extra $ was always tight, she always tried to give me the best toys and remember going into a fancy dept store that carried Steiff bears & Mme Alexander dolls, all she could afford was a tiny 5" bear but how I loved & treasured him, they have beautifully stitched faces, jointed arms & legs, and wonderful beige/brown "fur"
