A cool spot in Sacramento is the Rock and Radio Museum, which doesn't seem to have a website, so here's a recent article about it.

We saw the show of Savalin photos (great shots of the Stones and a young Springsteen), plus all the posters throughout the narrow halls and cramped offices. As you can see, everybody played Sac, from Zappa and Hendrix to B.B. King and the Coasters. Good collections of tickets stubs, too.
