    I would just like a little information concerning this, such as approximate age and what profession they might have been used in. they do have a serial number but I have not been able to find any serial number records relating to the Chicago Scale Company

      This is a Army or Navy Recruiting Scale. These scales were used in WWI & WWII in Recruiting offices to weigh recruits. Many of them had handles on them to allow for ease of transport.
