This cast iron pot belonged to my great-greatgrandmother. She lived in Louisiana. Its from the 1800's. It has a gate mark on the bottom.

Is the pot in picture 1 and 2 the same pot as the one in picture 3 and 4?
The top and bottom dimensions don’t look the same.

Good eye Watchsearcher! It does have the fire ring and in pic 3 I think I can see a number, which is amazing if it's really there still, but Wagner clicks to me.

In picture 3, on the right side of the pot near the rim, what am I seeing that has a tan/yellowish color when I enlarge the picture?
It looks tan/yellow in the cracks of the rough black surface in just that area.
Has something been applied to the surface of the pot?

Hello. So sorry for the late response.
I only have 1 pot. The 4th pic is the same pot, my cousins hand is on it. The bottom of the pot says:NO7. Please see additional photos. There is rust on the bottom ring of the pot.

      That’s good to know :^)
      Thanks for clearing that up.
Old cast iron cookware handed down thru the family is so special. It brings back memories of family long gone.
