Candlewick glassware had its humble beginnings in Ohio in the mid-30s. The Imperial Glass Company opened its doors in 1904 in Bellaire, Ohio.
The butter dish is a little out dated now as most people no longer use stick butter. A very nice piece however.
Now the bad news. There were almost 30 different companies both in the U.S. and Europe that have produced Candlewick looking glass.

I have a tremendous set of Candelwick. As a young girl, my mother and I would go to Ohio, to purchase Candelwick for my grandmother. I think the factory opened a small outlet in West Va. My grandmother had everything from 3 punch bowls w/cups and underplates, dinner plates, cups/saucers, many candle holders, flower bowls, all size serving bowls and platers, the sugar/creamers with under plates. Master salts and individual salts. Too much to list. Now it is all mine. I have had it for years but am ready to perhaps sell. Where is the best place to get it valued and to sell.
Your help in the matter would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
P. S. I don't have that beautiful butter holder. I love it!
Hi Beth.... You have a difficult task ahead. First, except for rare pieces, standard pieces are selling on ebay for near nothing (figure of speech) I have tried to sell on ebay but gave up as I was not going to give away my Candlewick. Prices have been dropping for years as the market is flooded with Candlewick due to the net.
However, check ebay for any rare pieces you have.
