My son purchased this because he like old motors and fans. I thought it would be an easy identification as there are many similar models, but the blades and cage are throwing me off. Any suggestions? It works nicely. Very quiet but takes a little time to get going. The information contained in the photo has it listed it as a 1940s fan. The blades are small though and I cannot find another identical image online.
I am still going with 1950s as that cage style was used in the 1950s. The blades look small for a Westinghouse fan from time. Look more like 1930s. And why would you delete my comment?

You have what Westinghouse refers to is a Poweraire.The 10PA 2 is a 2 speed fan from the very late 40’s thru mid 50’s.Your fan originally had a deep pitched Micarta blade,a plastic type lightweight blade.The blade on your fan is from another Westinghouse from the late teens and mid 1920.The blade on your fan looks to be brass.Good fans.

I didn't think those blades belong on this fan. Those fan blades may be more valuable than the rest of the fan.

Like Dawnbishopny said, you have a Westinghouse Powerair (style # 1380772, catalog# 10 PA-2, (PA stands for PowerAir the 10 stands for 10-inch blades, and the blades were originally made from Micarta, an early form of a fiber-plastic that Westinghouse developed that was very trendy back then. Those brass blades were taken off of an earlier model fan from the teen or 20s (most likely). Your fan was most likely made in 1941 - 42-ish. You can get a lot of info from this website for free (http://www.afcaforum.com/) even if you don't want to become a member (which I am. ) Nice find.
