Does anyone know anything about this chair? By the forging marks it seems to be from the 1860’s. In 1861 Texas changed the state seal from the republic of Texas to the state of Texas I cannot find anything about the history of this very heavy cast iorn pice any information is appreciated.

    Thank You

The flower on the chair is a bluebonnet, which was named the Texas state flower in 1901….so maybe your chair was made that year or later.

Lots of pics of this chair on the net, so you should have no problem looking up history.
