Old Hay Hook
I acquired this old hay hook recently. It was given to me by a collector that is moving. The wood handle is approximately 4 1/2" and overall the piece is about 12".
My other pair of hay hooks have a different style handle. This one is going to get hung on the garage header beam next to the other set along with my old brace and tool collection.

Used these many times on the farm putting up hay. I pulled up many square bales up on the hay wagon while stacking a load. These also worked great for taking care of some field mice and moles while working the hayfield.
Hmmm.... old hay hook. I guess that makes me an old guy. :)
Thanks Falcon..did the ones you used have this type of handle or like the ones on my garage wall?
Our family and hired farm hands had both styles.
I preferred the hay bale hook as in the first three pics.
I sometimes wanted to use these as a back scratcher !~
Nice one! I actually have used a hay hook many times, but it's been a long time since I've seen one.
