Can anyone inform where this statue originally belonged? Its been in my family for around forty years. It stands 160mm high and has a 55mm diameter base with a thread in the bottom. I assume it was attached to something but have no idea what!
The treaded bottom leads me to believe it is a trophy topper. Winged wheel and Mercury figure would indicate some kind of speed event, probably automotive.
Thanks Gordon, all I know is that it came from a friend of my fathers who was in the automotive trade!

no you can check some of them out. just hit antique hood ornaments and you will be surprised they weighed alot
Definitely smacks of an early radiotor cap topper hood ornament to me.
It is a radiator mascot, probably British, Rolls-Royce. Thanks for sharing. Vanskyock and retro was right on the money on this.
