    the serial number should point you in right way as to the year nice piece um also i don't think it would be old then 1863 i think because before then it was ball and flint i think is the word i'm looking for

    Looks like a late 19th century PERCUSSION shotgun. "Dama" is probably short for Damascus-- the steel technique used to create the barrel.

    Are there any markings on the lock plates?

    If you break the gun down it should be marked on the under side of the breach. You could submit pictures to http://www.nramusuem.org and they might give you some feed back.

    Its black powder that means burns very slow if were to
    Load new 12 ga. Shell & try fire it blow up in my face.
    I can't hold on to all this stuff & don't like dealing with
    My phone ringing off hook :(
