i think is a very old Coca-Cola cooler that is made up od wood and a kind of aluminum realy i dont know the probably age of this atricle. in ose side of the cooler is in the wood the signals of BEM USA and inside the cooler is a seal that si made in mexico and the number 28 in a circle if some one have some information of this cooler i would be so happy for the information. :)
thank you for the comments i search and i didn´t fine one similar until these you know some information about these because in the other cooler said that were aprox from 1950 and mine is in better condition
my neibor was throwing one of these and i took it but there is no lid and it is in pretty rough condition
I have one, it has galvanised sliding lids on top. I will post some pics of mine ifI can figure out how to do so
Im 15 years late, but im from Mexico and actually restoring the exact same model of cooler. This kind of coolers where distributed by BEMUSA (Bebidas Mundiales, S.A.) in Mexico, it was an Arca Continental subsidiary which was actally the bottler for Coca Cola for a long time. BEMUSA wasnt involved in the manufacturing process as long as I know, this process was in hands of local metal and woodworking industries. In my investigation I actually found that theres actually two versions or at least another similar version of the one you and I have, which instead of having the "DISFRUTA" in the logo, it says "TOMA" which translades to "drink". My grandpa used to work in one of the bottlers from BEMUSA or at least a similar one and told me this kind of coolers where given to small local bussines called "depositos" and also used in local big events to promote the brand, they where filled with ice and water in order to cool glass bottled beverages. Its kind of strange to know theres one out of Mexico whit intrigues me, but makes sense why it says "DISFRUTA" instead of "ENJOY". Well, I really enjoyed investigating on this little piece of history, if you still have acces to that coller you should check the corners it may have engraved the name BEMUSA, sorry if my writting is kind of sketchy english is not my first lenguage.
