I purchased this Ansonia clock from a collector on Bailey's Island, Maine in the 1980's. It worked perfectly, but the rather impressive and very melodic gonging every half an hour wasn't especially conducive to getting a good night's sleep. This clock served mostly as a decoration for the better part of 30 years, and it recently went to a new home where it will be equally appreciated.
I've seen an almost identical clock posted as style "Toronto", but the label on this clock was missing from the back. Other similar styles were made between 1892 and 1896.
