These range between 18" and 52" in length. The first two were made c. 1900, and are Algonquin in origin, 30" and 18". The latter two are recently made replicas, late 1990's, and are a Maliseet and Mi'kMaq, 36" and 52" long, respectively, done by Eric Mase, Ely MN. Eric builds according to the specifications recorded long ago by Edwin Tappan Adney, famous early canoe historian whose notes and historic drawings now reside with the Smithsonian Museum, and were published in book form: "The Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America", by Adney and Chappel.
