These vases were given as an anniversary gift from my great grandfather to my great grandmother in 1882 in southwestern Pennsylvania. They are pink glass and hand painted.
These have been precious to me since I was a small child. We lived by a lock and dam on the Monongahela River and the house would shake when the boats hit the lock wall. I asked my mother to please put the vases away so that I could have them when I grew up. They have recently spent 43 years displayed on my guest room mantel. I've noticed that I'm beginning to randomly drop things so it is time to pass them on. I'm in the process of packing them for our eldest granddaughter and will wait to seal them when I can include any information someone might be able to contribute. Thanks for making this available!!

Thanks for commenting. No, unfortunately, there are no markings. I hadn't thought of the possibility of them coming from Europe. Interesting.
