I'm not quite sure what this is.Is it a Drawing table or easel or podium? It seems like it must be turn of the century. The working surface is 26" across x 26 3/4" high.Sure could use some help identifying!

Could have been used by a draftsman, engineer, architect, bookkeeper, many uses. I've never seen one quite like this, very intricate!
are there tack holes or some way to hang drapery under the rim of it? if so, you probably have something that was used as a podium. if not, you probably have a mechanical tool like a draughtsman table.
