2nd Annual Exhibition of Paintings November 19th, 1947 through January 4th, 1948, California Palace of the Legion of Honor.
This is a fascinating exhibit catalog - particularly when side-by-side w/ the 1928 catalog from a painting exhibit at the legion. This one really shows American art taking the lead in the art world - some really great pieces in this one too. works by rothko, milton avery, Matta, clay spohn, john rogers cox, charles sheeler, salvador dali, kuniyoshi, joseph hirsch, yves tanguy, gottlieb, and max ernst - amongst others.
another treasure for under $10!
