I'd appreciate any help in identifying this old trunk. Was cleaning out the garage and forgot I had it. Purchased it years ago when going to college. It has wheel on the bottom. It is 14" by 26" and 15" tall. Just thought somebody could help with age etc. Thank you for your help.

That is a totally awesome well made trunk from around the 1880's. It almost has a ''Jenny Lind'' style to it -- but it is a little hard to tell. The detail in the interior is stunning -- I do not often see such detail and quality on the inside. It looks like is is covered in pigskin but maybe it is canvas? I would love to see a picture of the front locks and latches, they look a little unusual. I would not know what company made it but whoever did put there best into it. Thanks for post...great trunk!
Hi trunkman,
I took some pictures, latches etc. Doesn't look like canvas at all. Crackled leather of some sort I think. I'd love to send you the pictures but don't know where to post them. I'm also amazed at the inside condition. The material is not rotted. Let me know how I can post or send you pics and I will do so
Thanks
You can post up to four pics on this site so just upload one more. It does look like leather which adds to the quality.
