Yep, this monkey was sitting in a leaky old storage unit at an antique store...you could tell he was forgotten about. And, since my house is the Island of Misfit toys, he fits in well here. He has "My Toy 1961" on his neck. Would this be Zippy the Monkey? He's 24" tall.
That's Zippy, all right! I didn't have one, but my best friend did. I was over there so much I felt like all her toys were mine. Her Zippy had the red overalls. I don't remember the white muzzle, but maybe old Zip is getting old!
I had avery similar one with a banana in his hand . it has gone to a good home of monkey collectors.
Plastic faced toys are all the rage right now. They go for crazy money. Not that you are selling but it is good to know.
I find this monkey terrifying! That is not a banana, it's a knife!
LOL! Thanks guys! I thought it was ol' Zip. Amber, the lady I bought it from told me to "Get that creepy monkey outta here."
