Here's a few more photos from that amazing 1936 book on Dadaism/Surrealism by Julien Levy. there's lots of poetry, literature, interesting writing, etc... in the book as well. it really covers all of the arts very well - including film. the first photo is one of a well-known series done by Magritte around 1930. The second is a beautiful painting i've never seen by picasso - 'The Painter and His Model' 1928. the third is a Hans Arp collage on one of the colored pages and the last is a surrealist exhibit at the colle gallery in paris in 1933. check out the bare-breasted woman w/ the baguette family on her head! there are also images of works by Tanguy, de Chirico, Oppenheim, Miro, Roy [?], Klee, Oelze [?], Fini [?], Cornell, and Picasso.
i guess it kind of shows that i'm excited about this piece, huh?
