i found these beautiful masks yesterday at the Alameda Point Flea Market today. i just love them! but i don't know ANYTHING about them! would love to learn more...

    Hi ho2, they look Japanese, but I don't know why I say that. They aren't Noh, Kabuki, or Kyogen. They aren't Mardi Gras or African. What does that leave?
    They all seem to be in very good condition, what are they made of, any marking? I hope you get some help on this. Best wishes, Jim

    thanks jim and rob. they do appear to be chinese opera masks. they are made from what looks like papier mache on plastic and each is a different size and shape. i really like their graphic quality.
