I love this tunic. Unfortunately, it is unidentified, however, the ribbon bars for this brave Sailor speak for itself! Purple Heart, Good Conduct, American Defense, Navy Unit Commendation, American Campaign, Presidential Unit Citation with star (awarded to the Sailor twice), Asian - Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 combat stars, and the WWII Victory ribbon.
On the right chest is the "Ruptured Duck" patch, meaning that this Sailor was Honorably discharged after the war. The left sleeve has a US Naval Amphibious Forces patch, and the rank of Petty Officer First Class Hospital Corpsman.
The silk scarf is not WWII era, its just an extra one I had that was issued to me when I was in the Navy. Great uniform grouping, and I can not imagine the blood & guts this Sailor was witness to, while patching up wounded young Marines. Keep in mind, Navy Corpsmen were usually unarmed!! They ran through a hail of gun fire & explosions to the sound of "CORPSMAN!!!!!" One of the most DANGEROUS jobs on the battle field, and EVERY Marines best friend! Any Marine would go out of his way to protect the Corpsman, because with out the Corpsman, the Marines KNEW they were doomed if they became wounded.....

Thanks, Scott!
I am the keeper of a uniform jacket, much like this one, of some brave soldier, an MP in the battle for the Philippines, which, beside all the other ribbons on it has a Presidential Unit Citation. Sadly my uniform has no name also, I wish we could some how change this but for now we can just honor all are service people.
