This was by far one of my best finds while brousing in a junk store in NYC's South Bronx. Locating this dutch [Neo-Classical]-form fruitwood marquetry side chair was sensational.the chair is covered in foliar and floral satinwood marquetry through out; including rails, legs, back, and front.
This stand-alone marquetry chair is a graphic form and lushly-surfaced piece of art.
It can be said that it's a presenter and prisoner of the enveloping marquetry vines and flowers, an extraordinary example of 18th century Dutch marquetry skills.
As a hall chair or dimensional living room sculpture, this chair can take center stage. One of a kind.
