This piece is 7.5" tall (including lid) x 6.25" diameter. It is very heavy glass and after searching online, I discovered that it was made by L. E. Smith and appears to be the "Moon & Stars" pattern. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this.
I purchased this item and a number of other items from a family friend in November 2012, and the friend passed away this week (Feb. 7, 2013) at the age of 89. She was selling almost everything she owned from her 2 bedroom condo in order to go into assisted living. However, she almost immediately had to go into a full nursing home and only suffered with for a short time with a brief illness before passing away.
