With the price of gold skyrocketing over the past few years, collecting actual gold treasure coins can be very expensive. So sometimes you have to make due with something a little more reasonably priced.
When I saw these two postcards from around 1907, I knew I found another way of collecting gold treasure without actually buying the real thing. I love these two images. What kid doesn't dream about finding buried treasure?
I also got a kick out of the name of the town one of the postcards was addressed to - Lawyersville, NY. Very fitting since I'm sure all the gold those kids are digging up will eventually wind up in the pockets of all the lawyers representing the lawsuits filed against the kids claiming the gold is rightfully theirs.
