      I don't know the maker, but it probably would date from the 1920s- 1940s.

      Eight legs??? Sounds like a square dance waiting to start :) Nice looking old piece you have there. The wood isn't real clear in the pictures and the finish old or new would block a good look at the grain. As a guess from the before picture it might and I stress the word "might" be Honduran mahogany. It is a distant view and blowing it up blurs what I want to see. I think scottvez dated it really closely. I think I blew out the link I use for this type old design over the weekend. I did post it here somewhere on another post. Maybe I can locate it.
