Bronze? Chinese Figure, 2+3/4" high~Wood Plug in Bottom, minus a hand

Hello Again,
Another pick from today's shopping.
He's a little fellow, approximately 2+3/4" high
Pretty heavy, holding a plastic tooth pick in place of?, and missing a hand.
He cut a dignified figure, standing in the glass display case.
It looks very old,.....you think it may be?
A philosopher type, with a wood plug inserted at the base
possibly one of a group?
Any help appreciated, ( looks and loves appreciated, too!)
